About
The Old School Tea Room is situated in the idyllic village of Hebden, near Grassington. Food is available all day, and a range of gifts, crafts and cards are also on offer.
The Old School dates back to 1874 and is full of character, including the old school clock which was restored in the millennium and continues to chime every hour. From inside, there is a picturesque view down to the beck and across the fields and there is also large garden area with seating available to customers. Outside are pygmy goats, hens and guinea pigs, and a play park next door. Free parking is available in our car park. We love our charming old school and fresh, scrumptious food and we hope you will too!
Our Story
Maggie fell in love with the character building & after buying it in 2007, she launched The Old School Tea Room . Her daughter Emma (me!) and my husband Martyn joined forces with her in 2014 and together we aim to make good things happen! With very varied backgrounds, we each bring something different to the team, and we all love to cook & bake.
What we all have in common is a love for character buildings and a passion for great home made food, beautiful coffee, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy it all in. We have all lived in various cities around the UK and have travelled around the globe, sampling coffee shops wherever we go (of course!). With each adventure we bring new & exciting ideas back to the table every time. We are always evolving.
We now have three little girls and a baby boy, who love to test our baking and look out for new friends in the park!
Our Team
We have a fabulous team of staff with a wealth of experience. We bake cakes and scones every morning, and are always thinking of new and exciting flavours. Our Front of House team are all trained baristas and we have regular training to ensure we are all up to date with the latest techniques.
